Halloween Practice

Pickle is going to be an elephant this year. He just needs some practice wearing his new hat.

Gibson even tried it on, but it was a little snug.

Pickle is just like his dad.

They both can't get enough of the t.v.

Bwoop! Bwoop! I weighed in!

Annnnnnd we're (me and my fat) down 50 lbs! Yippee!

This is also great because I've gotten back down in the 200s. Yes folks, I was that heavy. I porked out at 344 lbs the week before surgery. Yikes.

For lack of an appropriate photo, I'm going to stop here. I promise some pics coming soon.

I got the pin!

At my job, the uh...theme this year involves bowling, and if we do a good job with something, we get passed this bowling pin. It was on my desk this morning for my "rush job" yesterday. Go me!

As you can see...I've got a lot of work (and YES, some mustard).

Lazy Saturday

The weather is cool and sunny. I'm finishing up my morning (er...afternoon) coffee, and all my loved ones here are napping.

Gastric Bypass and Football Season

You all know (or maybe you don't) that I'm a big Philadelphia Eagles fan. I love football season. I love the fall. And even more, I loved the fact that the Eagles went to the Superbowl in 2005 the same weekend that I met my husband (who doesn't like football, btw).

So, anyway...I have to admit that I miss some not-so-good-for-me things that I used to associate with football.

Chicken wings. yummmmm...their fried goodness will now surely induce the dumping syndrome (this is when a gastric bypass patient gets sick from eating too much fat or sugar, or just too much food in general - it is described as an impending feeling of doom followed by vomiting, diarrhea, or both). I tried to buy my own wings and bake them, but that was also a failed venture because the skin on the wings made me sick.

Beer. Oh, how I miss thee and thy bubbly refreshment. Carbonation is a no-no these days. It will fill up my stomach pouch and not be good. Not good at all. I took a sip of light beer once since surgery and burped for a good 15 minutes afterwards. I don't miss soda, but I do miss a nice hoppy brew.

Crab Fries. I can't even go there. Chickie's and Pete's for me = R.I.P.

The best I can do these days is celebrate the game with a nice bowl of chili. Turkey chili is a double dose of protein from the beans and the meat. Oh, and you can ask my husband and little brother - I make a killer chili.

Sidebar: Brandon said my boobs stick out farther than my gut now. Yay! lol!

The pills (again)

The pills have increased. Here's an accurate pictorial of what happens weekly and daily.

Every weekend I take these pills and put them in this.

I take these in the morning

and these in the evening...plus three (not pictured here).
