Our new livingroom addition

So, the Eagles lost but the weekend was not all bad.

Brandon and I went shopping. Here's what we got:

52" Sharp Aquos TV and an electric fireplace!

The fireplace has a heater to make the room all warm and cozy.

You can't see here, but there are fake flames that come out and look almost real :)

Too bad I won't be watching the Eagles at the Superbowl on my new tv. Eh, better luck next time.

3 hours of LOST tonight might just make up for it :)

So pissed I'm gonna blog about it.

So last night I make the 90 minute trip to Annville to see some friends I haven't seen in years. A mini reunion of sorts, if you will.

I arrive early, so I stop in to see dad. Surprise!

I head on over to the restaurant/bar and I'm there about 10 minutes early. I sit at the bar, ask for a glass of wine, and I'm carded. Sure. No problem. I open my wallet, and lo and behold, I've left my ID in my other purse. I tell the bartender that the owners know me and can vouch for me, so she asks the one who is there. Apparently, he tells her it's up to her whether she wants to serve me or not. Of course, she says no.

I call my husband and ask him to please check my purse for my ID when he gets home, because I'm more concerned about having lost my license than having a glass of wine.

Then I remember that I have a pouch full of cards that I only rarely use, and in it is my expired license. I give it to the bartender. She looks at it, and says no.

Okay, no booze. I can deal, I'm driving anyway.

A couple of minutes later she asks me, "Are you meeting people here?"

"Yes, I am."

"Well, you can't sit at the bar without an ADULT."

At this point I promptly give her the whatthefuck look of death, mumble something under my breath and storm out of the place. Seriously, if this is the way your restaurant is going to treat customers that you have known since childhood, then maybe I don't want to eat there.

I get in my car and call my dad - a regular at said establishment - and he's as pissed as I am.

I then phone my friends who have since arrived and tell them I refuse to eat there. While sympathetic, they don't indicate the desire to change venues and I reluctantly come back inside and go upstairs to our reserved area.

When dinner is over, I see my dad wandering around the restaurant.

"What are you doing here?"

"Oh," he says, "I wasn't doing much and I found this and thought I'd bring it to you."

He hands me my birth certificate.

I laugh, but really, this bitch of a bartender is not going to budge because the letter of the law says I have to show her a valid driver's license. Besides, it wasn't the not being served part that pissed me off, it was being told that I needed an ADULT to accompany me, especially since I'm pretty sure I'm older than she is.

I doubt I'll be back there. Ever.

Chistmahanukkah and Random whining (you were warned)

Well, I don't really NEED anything. I could always use more money. Be it in the form of cash or a better paying job, I won't complain. Don't we all? I was hoping to pay my credit cards off completely this year with my bonus, but it looks like the economy is going to take that away :(

Things I have asked for:

Jillian Michael's Fitness Ultimatum for the Wii. It's a fitness game by one of the trainers from The Biggest Loser. I figure if I'm going to play a game, I might as well try to get some exercise from it.

That's all I've asked for so far.

Every year, I say I'm going to use my bonus to fix my car - all cosmetic - but I never do. I just can't justify wasting money on it at this point. And I wanted to get a new car after I paid off those credit cards. Screw you, economy! This is what I wanted - Volvo S40:

Oh, and someone stole my Gucci sunglasses when my car was parked in the city. They were prescription. BASTARDS. I don't think I want to buy another pair of $300 sunglasses, but I will need a pair of prescription shades at some point. Eh, maybe these Marc Jacobs. They're only about $100.

Honestly, I like going out to eat. I can't eat that much, but I like to get out of the house and see people, so I'd be content with a gift certificate to a restaurant this year. Brandon and I have decided to cut back on going out to eat, which makes me sad. Plus, I can't find sushi grade ahi tuna for sale anywhere near my house and I love seared ahi tuna.

Okay, so I'm done whining now.

Crappy pictures of me from Ben's wedding...

So, apparently I'm just not photogenic. Mind you, I had been up since 3am local time, and I was BEAT!

Here's me and Julie (Jeremy's girlfriend)

And me with my crackhead mother and Jeremy:

And lastly, one with my adorably dimpled husband and Julie again:

P.S. Jeana, are you happy now?

Home Sick

I stayed home sick today - I was up all night with an upset stomach which continued well into the morning. Things seem to have settled down now, and I will be leaving shortly to get my bridesmaid dress altered and to have dinner with Cheryl. Today was a lazy day with my kitties, who slept most of the day.

Pickle goes swimming

Okay, I know this blog was supposed to be about me, but really...nothing exciting is happening. I'm still shrinking but haven't weighed myself in weeks.

Pickle is way more entertaining, especially when he plays in the water.

Tonight he jumped in the bath tub.
